漢字っておもしろい(2)
Today I would like to talk about the second useful role of Kanji.
黙読（もくどく）
黙視（もくし）
黙禱（もくとう）
We use the Kanji "黙" when we do something silently without speaking.
Now that COVID-19 is popular, there is a sticker like this on my company cafeteria.
「黙食」
This is a new word, but even if you don't know how to read it, you can understand its meaning very well.
By the way, this is read as "Mokusyoku".
In this way, Japanese can create many new words by combining Kanji.
The recently popular anime "鬼滅" is also a new word that combines the Kanji to destroy demons (鬼を滅ぼす).
今日は漢字の便利な役割二つ目をお話します。

話さずに黙って何かをするときに「黙」という漢字を使います。
コロナが流行りだしてから
私の会社の食堂にはこんな張り紙が張られました。
「黙食」
新しい言葉です。
今までなかった言葉ですが
読み方がわからなくても
意味はとってもよくわかります。
ちなみに、これは「もくしょく」と読みます。
こんな風に、日本語は漢字を組み合わせることで、たくさんの新しい言葉を生み出すことができます。
最近流行りのアニメ「鬼滅」も
鬼を滅ぼすという漢字を組み合わせた
新しい言葉です。
